NetDocuments provides three ways to send a copy of
a document to others.
-
E-mail a
document that exists within NetDocuments to a non-NetDocuments user
-
E-mail a
document that does not exist within NetDocuments directly to a specified
NetDocuments folder
-
Create a
NetBinder to collaborate on a single copy of the
document(s)
In this help section, we focus only on option one, but you may click on the
references below to learn more information about the other options.
E-mail a document that exists within NetDocuments to a non-NetDocuments user
By simply accessing any document that is unfiled or filed in a folder, the option to e-mail the document appears
on the Document Navigation menu. Or for a NetBinder, the option appears in the
Options dialog box that appears upon accessing a document that exists within the
NetBinder.
Before you begin
e-mailing documents outside of NetDocuments, consider three things:
-
Consider whether you wish to use the
standard e-mail dialog provided by NetDocuments, or whether to use integration
with Microsoft Outlook to access your personal or corporate address books. To configure NetDocuments to
integrate with Outlook, click on My Account and
select Collaboration Settings. Turn
on Desktop Email Integration.
-
Consider security. Remember that
this is the only operation from within the service that does not use SSL to
transfer data. Your document will be sent via the standard unsecured
routes for anyone to trace. If you need to "send" a document securely, we
recommend using the powerful features of the NetBinder.
-
NOTE: If you have installed the
Outlook integration available from My Account, Application Settings, you can
access any document in NetDocuments from within the Outlook email interface by
using the NetDocs Insert button. You are able to attach multiple documents
to an email using this option.
