NetDocuments calendaring allows calendar events to be
stored within a cabinet. These are especially useful for an extranet
application of NetDocuments. Calendaring also integrates with Microsoft Outlook to
insert the NetDocuments calendar events into a user's Outlook calendar. If
the calendar event is updated in NetDocuments, it will update the event in
Outlook. If it is deleted or changed in Outlook, it will not be updated in
NetDocuments.
The initial dates default to the current date. You can select any other date by clicking on the calendar icon. Start and end times default also to the nearest current time. You do not need to enter values here. If you enter a Start Time, but not an End Time, NetDocuments will automatically complete the End Time to be an one half hour later than the Start. Start and end time fields accept input in the following formats:
Calendar items show up in folders like documents and other items.
Event location and notes fields are searchable just as any document text. The event subject is searchable as a document name.
Calendar events are not echoed. See Echoing for more information.
NetDocuments supports integration with Outlook. If the Outlook integration component has not been installed and a compatible version of Outlook is installed on your workstation, NetDocuments will automatically download the Outlook Integration component for sending Calendar Events to your Outlook. Note this is different than the Outlook Integration available under My Account, Application Settings.
When you choose to
notify others of the event, the e-mail text will look similar to a standard
document notification. |
